Why is my ssd so slow?

now for 40$, the best is that SABRENT 500GB Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 for 39$ 
It's Phison E16 + 512MB DDR4 + 96l TLC toshiba NAND
Little old, but still good PCIe 4.0 SSD on TLC with DRAM

I wouldnt say its toooo sus as the read/write is very low for an M.2 at that cost, but it is quite cheap for a 1TB. Id expect to see a drive with that read/write and about 500GB rather than 1TB, though if its for Operating system and other programmes and apps id say 500GB is plenty, i was running my OS and other programmes off a 120gb sata ssd for quite a while before i upgraded. So if you find a better value, less sus and faster NVMe for about the same price id go for that instead. Both the P5 plus and sabrent fall into that category i believe

I have never Heard of this company, and can’t find any info about this SSD ( don't know what controller and NAND are in it )
do you want to repeat your current situation that much? 
we want to solve it, not repeat it. 
 

now there's nothing interesting around 40$, beside that SABRENT 500GB Rocket

you should have bought that SN580 1TB for 39$ when I linked it, if you wanted something little slower, but that still have reasonable performance. But it's 55$ now, so not affordable at all.

you should have bought that SN580 1TB for 39$ when I linked it, if you wanted something little slower, but that still have reasonable performance. But it's 55$ now, so not affordable at all.

I'd definitely still get an NVMe, youre looking at around 8x the speed for $3 extra, good deal imo

There are 9 hardware version of this SSD over all

The 480GB capacity have 4 hardware version, and should be on SM2258XT/SM2259XT (dramless), and some 64/96/128l TLC NAND from Micron.
I wouldn't want if for OS, it's slow, but it's still better than your current SSD (but then again, almost everything is better than your current SSD).
Everything above 480GB available, is on QLC NAND. 

But again, it's DRAMless SATA SSD, why going this rout again. do you really want to repeat your current situation that much, just little less extreme?
you really don't want your drive to be the bottleneck

What's DRAMless though? I still dont really get specifications with ssds, don't know why I didn't state it earlier. And I also I found this and doesn't it look similar to the sabrent one, and also isn't crucial also a trusted brand?

You would think that, right? Wrong, it’s one of the worst big brand PCIe 4.0 SSD out there.
Crucial P3 plus is on Phison E21T (1-core, 4-channels, DRAMless) + 176l QLC Micron.

weak DRAMless controller, and slow QLC NAND.

OP, please don't listen to this guy. He wants you to waste your money with no good intensions. $40 for 500GB is a horrible advice. I saw your screenshot and saw 1TB C disk full. Now imagine if you get 500GB SSD which is twice less than what you have now and on the top of that paying $40 for it, which is horrible... You won't even have space for your files. That SSD he recommends you are for video editors and people who work in such programs transferring huge amounts of data and need speed, so unless you're into video editing and doing such things, you don't need such SSD. Any normal SSD should work for you. Your problem sounds more like your current SSD is defective. Just get any normal brand SSD. Wait for black friday. Solidigm might have discounts again. Just don't get unknown brand - Samsung, Crucial, Hynix, Solidigm are good brands.
