Phantek and gigabyte

I plan on getting the Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK. I know it will fit in the h440, but I am not sure it will mount to the motherboard I am getting, the gigabyte 990fxa-ud3. I have heard horror stories of people getting this cooler and it wouldn't mount, while others haven't had a problem. Does anyone know if it will actually fit or should I find another cooler now?

That cooler will not allow you to use the top pci-e slot limiting you to 8x only

It will fit. It's just a bit more difficult to mount compared to smaller coolers or coolers with better mounting hardware. *cough* Noctua *cough*

I would have gone noctua had it not been for that ugly brown color scheme. I am trying for looks with this build (just don't look at the blue ram

You can replace the fans on it, it's nor forcing you to use the brown fans

That costs money and that money is going to the Evga gold and fully modular psu.

You could wait untill after you get the psu to get more money and put on different fans.

So you're going to just waste a good £40 in fans just to buy a better mounting system when the Phanteks performs pretty much the same AND looks good with stock fans

True, but I am using an old xfx 6870 for the build. I think my money would be better spent saving up for a high end gpu that my psu can handle. Also, as strict nein said, the phanteks performs well and looks good, which is why I am asking if anybody knows if it works. However, I do appreciate your input.
