Is it okay to use the same psu cables on a different psu with the same wattage?

throw5248

I have bought a new power supply from a different company since mine died, and it’s the same wattage as the one i had and i’ve checked the input and output and they all check out as the same, I think it would be easier to use the same ones since they are already cable managed and save me the time from changing them out but what effect would that have on the pc? I know i shouldn’t use  the same cables but the wattage and output is all the same so would it be okay?

Ususally NO, the pinout on PSU side varies between manufacturers, and sometimes even between models of the same manufacturers resulting in a risk of frying stuff with mismatched cables. It might be OK but you first need to make 100% sure they are the same using either published pinouts for both exact models or by measuring.
