32:9 gaming at 5k 4070ti or 4080

SkateArc

So I’ve just purchased a Samsung 49unch 5120x1440 and my current gpu (rtx 2070 super) is showing its age. I am looking at upgrading to a 4070ti vs 4080, wanting to know if the 4080 is worth it as the price difference is about $500. Thanks

Its up to you if you think 500 bucks is worth the extra performance. He is using a 5800X3D CPU.
What CPU do you have?

I have a 5600x. Just wanted to make sure that a 4070ti would be sufficient

Depends on what you mean by sufficient. Some people think sufficient is medium settings sub 60 fps, or stable 60 fps, some think ultra and stable 60 fps, etc.

RTX 4070 TI having 12GB VRAM and you're going with "5K", it's not gonna hold up well.

So really, either go AMD or RTX 4080.
