Not sure where this goes but the quote function here on LTT seems to not be working for me. windows 7, fully updated. I.E. fully updated newest version (no I am not switching to firefox because I honestly don't see the difference between the two.)

I hit quote and type my reply in the little box that comes up at the bottom of the page. It posts said reply, but without the quote. HELP

there's your problem, i.e.

try chrome.

You know, it's usually a scapegoat when people say that IE is the problem and not the site you're using. Almost 100% of the time, talking about a good 98-99%, the website just isn't written properly in one facet and falls through for someone or for a specific browser. This type of thing isn't isolated to IE, either. I'm not trying to defend IE, since I do notice it has problems that have nothing to do with websites but I know for sure people give it a lot of shit that one time it doesn't work. The biggest gripe I have is that IE doesn't have nearly as much support with add-ons/extensions, but everyone knows why and that it doesn't. I'd like to finish by saying that I don't know if this is an IE problem directly, but I'd bet that it isn't. Can it be fixed by swapping browsers? Probably, but shouldn't it just be fixed?

Quote for me is broken in a different way (always has been), where if I edit my post in normal mode with a quote attached, it'll add the timestamp + name over and over inside the quote, outside of the timestamp brackets.

If you want to stick to IE (I assume you're using 11 and if you're not, try it), you can just switch to old school HTML mode by clicking the thing next to the eraser. Basic/not as pretty looking, but I can guarantee if there's ever anything wrong with posting you can fix it yourself. The problem is you have to type stuff like , , , whatever if you want it. Quotes still quote as intended, and you can always just quote and then switch modes when you want to type out a reply, switch back before posting. Inconvenient but it's the alternative to changing browsers.

I guess this might confirm my suspicions that there's something wrong with the full posting mode and/or quoting posts, in IE of course.

I don't like chrome. Again I've never had any issues with ie. I don't use any addons other than my antivirus and that works just fine. Besides with google being in bed with the feds there's no way I will ever use chrome. Only reason I still use google is because it is the best search engine out there so meh.

really just meh. This wouldn't be an issue if the function was "reply" instead of quote. Then again that might be to noobish for ltt :P.
