Forgive me if I've missed some place that LTT does this already - I watch the channel regularly but am new to the forums.

In a recent episode where they were talking about CNET, it occurred to me that the one time I land on CNET is usually when searching e.g "battery banks 2023".

Does LTT have any intent of publishing this type of guidance?  I can generally search for specific product reviews on the channel, but for lots of the quick things I buy (battery banks, docking stations, cables, etc) I'd often appreciate a quick "LTT Recommendation".

Any idea if there's any intent to publish these types of recommendations in a more condensed format than individual product reviews?

I would so be interested in these types of recommendations for simple products like that.
Every time you type in google "bla bla bla 2023" you get AI-generated shitty articles for products you cannot even find online anymore 😄
So no wonder people go to Amazon, filter by popular and then buy what fits their budget.

Also not to forget, many products aren't available in all regions so technically, if you made a recommendation list for Amazon USA, most likely half the products won't be available in the EU or Asia and etc.

Replying to TylerD321:

Sort of.. I'm more looking for this type of article/recommendation published by LTT as I generally trust their objectivity and continuously-improving test methodologies.

https://www.engadget.com/best-power-bank-143048526.html

Just a quick way to say "I need a _____.  Which would be LTT's recommendation?"

When I bought a gaming laptop last year, I was influenced by a couple of LTT's videos where I was able to find a few that I was considering.  It'd be nice to have a more dense/consolidated report of their reviews and recommendations, especially for less significant purchases where I might just want a quick answer to e.g "good cable company".  I imagine there's a decent affiliate revenue stream from those types of articles.

Yep, exactly.  I generally don't trust the articles or publishers that tend to come up, and they're surely impacted by partnerships/sponsorships.  LTT does such a good job in their research, I'm hoping at some point there's an easier way to look to them for a quick recommendation, ideally with an affiliate kickback for clicking through their site.

Not AI but rather a scripted response. There is no living AI yet, just the A part and tons of marketing BS. Just type -2023 (=the current year) after the term you are looking for to get the real results.

I try but every time I get results with products that were released 3-4 years ago as a top1 pick. In some cases, those products aren't even available anymore and have been superseded or just discontinued. Not to forget, those articles are from big sites, not some random no-name ones. I think LTT has made a video about this issue, not sure which one it is though, couldn't link it.

So that depends on the type of product you are looking up. On older stuff I like to read the bad reviews on sites like amazon. If things break later on, there is chance someone posted about it. Are there any particular products you need more information about? Most online comparisons are useless unless properly done and there are very few outlets that will do that these days and keep old records alive.

Recently, I had to watch like 3 hours of reviews on YouTube on different tablets because well google didn't give me an answer. It sucked and in the end, I didn't make a decision.
There have been times with different devices as well. Probably stuff like hair clippers and etc. There are like 50 different models just from one manufacturer...
Oh, and not to forget - TVs!!!! There are like an alphabet of different models with just a few symbol differences in their name and the price hike of course. How do you even select a new TV for your living room without going to the store and talking to someone that doesn't understand half the things he's talking about...

They have done couple of these types of videos, but generally is the yearly holiday buyers guide. Its very different to do such in video format than in written media where you can have prices in real time.

Even if/when Labs ever gets it going fully, I don't see such types of content something they would regularly do. There are already so many sites doing it. For example, last time I tried to find reviews on best camera phones, there were 3+ sites doing it yearly. All with same top picks and similar results.

No. There are recommended and not recommend products in reviews, but there is no simple list for that. One of the reasons they are building a lab. To make it easier to make decisions for the consumer.
