Hello, first time ever posting here.

While I know what makes a good monitor for the use-case I'm looking for I'm curious what other people are using and what they would recommend and what they wouldn't.

Lil bit of background to know where I'm coming from:
I'm a software developer. Specifically a mobile app developer. Normally I'd say, sure, any monitor will do cause I'm just looking at code. However, I think I want to get something really nice. Something with good color accuracy and a high resolution and for this monitor I won't give a care about response time. A higher refresh rate (120hz+) would be nice but isn't necessary, not like I'll be gaming on this. It would just be nice to have a good looking monitor that is color accurate to match designs and whatnot.

It is a little tough to find exactly what I'm looking for without falling into the high-end gaming monitors (at least on Newegg). Seriously I don't give a single care about the response time or the refresh rate (it would just a be a nice to have) or if it has edgy "gamer" styling. This will be a monitor that I put in my office at work.

A few of the monitors I'm basing my search on would probably be:
- Dell U3223QE
- Apple Studio Display
- Asus ProArt PA279CV
All of the above have a 60hz refresh rate which is fine but if there is anything out there that could be like those but also have a high refresh rate that would be awesome.

Points for budget friendly too but I know what I'm looking for is probably going to be expensive.

I'm going to get 2 of these monitors and run my M2 macbook pro on it at my desk.

Have you guys ever bought a monitor like this? Did you like it did you choose one over the other? Why?

I would love to hear how you plan on justifying buying studio grade monitors just have them display text most of the time. If I am not sleeping, I am in front of 4 displays. Neither any of which are anything special (other than I made sure they are pwm flicker free). What made the most difference is alignment of them. Just buy a decent IPS monitor that has USBC or the input you are looking for and be done with it.

When we got 4K screens at work they were limited to 30 Hz initially, due to HDMI. That was horrible to use in an IDE, because the mouse and scrolling text was visible lagging. So you definitely don't want anything lower than 60 Hz. Anything above that shouldn't make a difference though.

Other than that, I would echo Levent's advice. Get a decent IPS screen, you don't need anything special for coding. Provided you don't do stuff that requires actual color accuracy that is beyond manual calibration.

I mean if you have the money, I'd say go for the 2 Apple Studio Displays.

That is gonna look beautifullll. I have one, and I was considering a 2nd one this past Tax-Free weekend, but I couldn't justify it haha.

If you plan on using a PC on your desk for any reason what so ever, don't get the Studio Displays

Hm, any reason why you aren't considering ASUS' 27-inch 1440p ProArt ? It's the sweet spot PPI - and it's precisely why the Studio Display is 5K since it's an even 200% scaling from 1440p.

the 4k 60hz monitor market is pretty dead, the asus is an overpriced srgb 4k monitor, the dell is a good 4k p3 monitor, unless you really want 32inch then the U2723E is a better deal. Anything above 700usd and u might as well get the KCT m27p20, which is a gaming monitor that comes with full hdr functionality that does everything better than the overpriced 60hz monitors.

Need to know the exact model of the studio display to comment on that one.

Apple Studio Display

I will go for this since you are using it for MacBook Pro M2. Only Apple display let you scale in proper without impact to performance others than 100% scaled. They do have apps can mimic it and enable hardware full acceleration if not using 100% scaled in 3rd party monitor but it is still under beta where the apps will make your 3rd party monitor act as virtual monitor to bring back all display function in macOS, but it is not work in full acceleration yet where still got smoothness transition issue, this is obvious to spot when you enlarge to full screen during playback of YouTube.

27" in 100% scaled will be too small everything and you will want your mac not in 100% scaled. Due to this I will suggested you go for Apple Studio Display only.
