Posted July 31, 2023 It doesn't seem to be a Windows issue as similar logs are made if a PC were to be shut off from the wall switch. If you managed to break standoffs on your CPU cooler it may be likely that the Motherboard has sustained damage around the socket area. This is sort of a critical area as a lot of the VRMs are in the local surrounds and the traces between the CPU pin pad and the VRMs are easy to break. Often the sudden shut off will be a result of protections built into the motherboard to prevent huge issues in the event of shorts or arcs. Apart from that, I'd look into the power supply but currently with the info I have it's sounding like a motherboard issue. I suck a typing, preparw for typos. Apart from that, I'd look into the power supply but currently with the info I have it's sounding like a motherboard issue. nosed arround in event viewer more nothing usefull, just unexpected shut down and then the kernel thing, from another similar thread it suggested i find a whea error didnt find one. how could i explain this error to my repair guy he isnt a nerd just fixes pc for money and learnt for money so i cant just give him error codes. should i just tell him i shut off randomly or anything else? Apart from that, I'd look into the power supply but currently with the info I have it's sounding like a motherboard issue. just to further elaborate on the broken standoff thing, if you didnt see my last post yet bassically i cleaned dust off cooler and overscrewed while putting it back i heard a pop sound and inspected everything which seemed fine pc didnt even post no lights anywhere so got cooler changed. standoffs are not the modern one my pc is quite old so its like black plastic things put in the holes to provide place for screws to go in i think. Apart from that, I'd look into the power supply but currently with the info I have it's sounding like a motherboard issue. really weird i let the pc run idle with some programs open for 3-4 hours and it ran fine but after played some osu on it, it shut off another instance where i did some school work on browser and some file explorer tabs and didnt shut off for another 2 hours today i opened everything cpu intensive i could think off temps peaked 63 on msi afterburner no crash yet(case was open i dont think case restricts airflow although it is pretty congested) crashes have lowered frequency since i have used pc less going for days without turning on only once every week if i feel the need to test it. havent got time to send it to repair and dont even know what to tell the guy and how will he test or recreate the issue Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
