Overclocking GT 730

skayqz

Hi, i currently have been interested into overclocking my HP GT 730 2gb DDR3 graphics card, although i watched some tutorials since i am new to this, when i went to test Minecraft Java with +300 core clock and +175 memory clock it gave the same fps as usual.

Am i doing something wrong?

I tested multiple games aswell and they performed the same as i didnt even overclock anything, im using MSI Afterburner.

pls halp

two things:

- a GT730 is barely a GPU at all, so overclocking isnt gonna do much, if it's even gonna work at all because power targets.

- minecraft java is HEAVILY cpu-tied.  you  can get hundreds of fps out of a gt640.

Try running a stress test and slowly increase the clocks. That gpu is weak on its own so it might not even be worth it.

Minecraft isnt the kind of game good for testing GPU overclocks, it's heavy on CPU and RAM (if you go low enough).

That said because DDR3 is terribly slow as VRAM, I'd leave the core clock alone and only raise the memory

GT 730 is one of those cards where you should be seeing visible increase in performace when overclocked to that level. I tried overclocking my "doomsday spare" 730 and got overall increase in FPS ranging from 10 to 30%. That is, of course, if you are not bottlenecked by CPU
