let’s start from the very beginning.

How old is the computer?

What are your full system specs?

What drivers have you installed?

Have you update the bios to the latest?

What OS are you running now?

My new Pc Is fairly new, i fully built it yesterday.
 3070 TI
4X8 3600
1 TB NVME SAMSUNG 970
Ryzen 7  5800x
850 Corsair PSU.
I tried installing the ones from the Asus website, they dont even run. I tried straight from intel, nothing.
Bios has been updated.
I tried windows 10, plugged in my ethernet, nothing. Tried the same drivers I mentioned above^
I am currently using windows 11.

by any chance do you think this could be an ethernet cable problem? Its Cat  5e and it works on my old pc its not super old.

It doesn’t sound like a cable issue, but networking can be weird. If you have another cable test it out.

If the drivers are up to date for the chipset and the lan controller and it refuses to work with two different cables, you probably have a mamlfunctioning chip on the motherboard.

well Ive seen many reddit and pc website posts about them having this same issue. My main problem is the hassle I'm gonna go through to do an RMA. I'm going to check if I have any other cables.

See above, I edited.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this already, but when i first plugged in my ethernet cable, it didnt work. When I changed the speed and duplex down to 10 MBPS FULL Duplex, my ethernet worked, but it is very slow. Do you still think its because of the motherboard?

Test a second cable. Like I said, networking can be very finicky. It could be the chip on the board, it could be the cable.
