Hello All,

I have two ASUS G11DF prebuilt machines that I have been cheaply upgrading whenever I can. They both currently work with the following hardware:

CPU = AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (replaced the original Ryzen 5 1400)

GPU = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (This is the original card)

RAM = 2x 8GB sticks GSkill DDR4 (replaced the original 8GB kit)

PSU = TUF Gaming 750W Gold (replaced the original Chacony 500w)

The Motherboard is the original board with no onboard graphics or display ports and a B350 chipset. The BIOS has been updated to the most recent one (0903) available from ASUS which is unfortunately 5 years old.

I originally planned on stopping my upgrades because the motherboard was so old and limited what CPU I could use. Then I came across a pair of XFX SWFT 210 RX 6600s for a very reasonable price, purchased them, and tried using them. My understanding was that they should work, they just might be bottlenecked. However, I consistently get no signal when using them. The computers turn on, the peripherals light up, but I get no display. When I swap the 1060s back in everything works fine. Neither 6600 will work with the machines.

I have tried a number of troubleshooting steps. I tried both DP and HDMI cables and different ports. I tried a different monitor. I removed the NVIDIA drivers. I tried tinkering with the BIOS (not a lot there to tinker with though). The new PSU is the most recent one. I will at some point have access to my brother's computer to try out the GPUs and validate them once again, but I cannot do so at the moment, so I am looking for some advice in the mean time. In doing what research I could, my biggest concern is that the motherboard or the motherboard's firmware is the issue and that it might be an insurmountable one.

Is it possible to get the RX 6600 to work with this board and, if so, how? In the event I have to replace the board, would it be possible (ignoring whether or not it is a good idea) to get a board that will work with the current CPU and the 6600? If the answer is no to both I am likely to just resell the 6600s, assuming they are not the issue.

I appreciate any advice and feedback. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.

The rx6600s should be working with any motherboard as long as it has a PCI-e slot on it. And it is unlikely that you got two defective graphics cards at the same time.

What you could try is use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the Nvidia drivers. And if that doesn't solve the issue, you may have to wipe your boot drive and start with a fresh install of Windows. In theory, this is not required, but there are many times that it solve the problem for me.

Good luck !
