YouTube Taking More System Resources?

Has anyone noticed YouTube taking more system resources lately?

 

It seems like my fans spin up every time I have YouTube open this week. I'm wondering if it is related to the AdBlock ban implementation.

If your browser has hardware acceleration enabled then you'll see a larger use of processing power.

Well I guess that answers that question. Probably me 😅

  • I am in the northern hemisphere
    • but in an air conditioned environment
      •  though my PC is next to a window taking in sunlight.
  • Hardware Acceleration is on

It's just weird because I've never noticed this before and it only seems to happen on YouTube.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
