The rest of your system doesn't care about what type of VRAM your GPU has. The VRAM is only used by the GPU itself. GDDR6 is simply faster than GDDR5, that's all there is to it.

One more question, Is 1660 same gen as 1050? (This time gens are meant as 20, 30 ect.

No, it's still the same Turing architecture found on the RTX 20-series cards. It's a lower end 20-series card that doesn't support RTX.

So I will need to use DDU?

Nvidia's GeForce drivers tend to work across all GPUs they support, but I still DDU whenever I swap cards just to be safe.

Speaking of drivers, when doing clean install should I run Win in safe mode or it is fine to let it install in normal mode?

Usually I run DDU in Safe Mode, but I know people who don't and they have no issues.

There's no point to installing drivers inside Safe Mode since Safe Mode won't actually load them. Safe Mode only loads the basic drivers built into Windows that allow your PC to function.

It's usually referred to as a 16-series card, as opposed to 10-series for the 1050 and 20-series for e.g. the 2060. It's basically a 20-series card, but lacks the RT cores that were added to the RTX 20xx cards (i.e. no official hardware support for ray tracing)

I bet the same reflection could be had with RT off and if you swapped the images, people would be fooled. Devs don't need RT for excellent reflections 99% of the time.

16-series existed concurrently with 20-series. Both are the Turing architecture and both succeed the 10-series, but the 16-series lacks any RTX features such as RT and Tensor cores.

As for the memory subsystem, GDDR6 is simply the next version of GDDR from GDDR5/5X of the 10-series and as previously mentioned is entirely contained within the card so you don't need to worry about memory compatibility with your system like you would with traditional memory.
