So I decided I'll go with a brand new Sigma Atlantis I stashed in the attic a decade ago.  It's 100% aluminum, including all the drive cages.  A lot of it is extrude, which while a little bit rough is still excellent for passive cooling.  This was the primary motivation why I bought it, it was a huge chunk of aluminum for not a lot of money.

I'm hoping that even though it doesn't have that much airflow that the aluminum will be good at passive heat dissipation.

You probably could mod it to have the whole front being filtered air intake. Keep those bars.

Yeah, possible, 3x 5.25" bays fit a 120mm fan nicely.  I could either find a bay adapter like that or 3D print it.  The 3.5" bays would work well for USB ports and card readers, and I probably still want an optical drive.

The blue LED fan was previously removed by me when I sold my original model Cooler Master Cosmos (I kept the quality CM fans 😁).  I was over the bright LED lights by mid-2000s.

One of my mod ideas was to drill and install handles into the top.  The top is very thick aluminum extrude, the handles would be functional.

It's no secret I like handles on my computers.

Imagine that aluminum with pure white LEDs though. 😮

Heh, yeah, I'd go blind though.  It would look pretty good.  I'm thinking of replacing the indicator LEDs with white, right now power is green and HDD blue.

That's a strange bracket.  I was thinking more like:

And what I can do is measure up my exact case opening and draw one up in SolidWorks no problem.  That way it won't have gaps in my case.

I removed the lower 3.5" drive cage because it will interfere with the airflow.

Unless the heat generating components are directly touching the aluminum, the passive cooling will be next to no - existent.

Cool retro case though.

What I didn't mention is that I have 3 more of them...

If I ever have a rig where I don't want any external bays I just might do that.  Just take a dremel to the case front behind the grill and cut away all the material that blocks the airflow, then add some 3D-printed fan brackets.  Should fit 3 120 or 140mm fans.

I remember when they had the Nvidia Stacker.  I scoffed at it at the time, but a couple years later regretted not getting one.  I bet they're semi-collectible now.
