Because they aren't? Unless you remove the IHS and put LM on there yourself, there's no liquid metal in there at all. They're soldered in place, which is very different from liquid metal because at room temperature and the temperatures a CPU will reach under full load, it's not liquid.

We have all seen the liquid metal melt in the PS5 haven’t we? CPU heat spreaders are attached to the die with liquid metal. Why are we not worried about this???

especially with the new AM5 socket, it could leak out the holes onto everything else not to mention the components mounted on the front of the CPU.

Liquid metal melt

Sorry? Liquid metal is a liquid at room temperature. It can flow if pooled sufficiently.

The die is actually exposed, and makes direct contact with the heatsink through the liquid metal. It is not that different from a laptop--there isn't exactly a CPU heat spreader, like what you would find in desktop PCs.

They have actually taken excellent steps in mitigating it. See image below:

The foam help prevent any spillage. The only real issues that have seemingly occured is the liquid metal flowing away from certain spots on the die, and creating a "hotspot," which would then shut the PS5 off when overheating. Simply opening it & moving the liquid metal around fixes it.

Jude 1:23

And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
