How will Watchdogs run on My setup

fallendigital

Hi people!

Here is my setup: i5-2400 3.1GHz, Gigabyte R9-270X 4GB and 8gb of value memory by Kingston.

Saw that the recommended spec require a 8 thread cpu. Will it make a big different?

Thanks in advance.

Haha, Thanks for the reply. i was actually thinking of getting a PS4 , but then thinking about that i just upgraded my gfx. It will be a waste if i don't use it! But still don't get it why it will need such a beefy CPU.

your cpu will be fine you wont be able to run a 295x2 or anything without a bottle neck however something like a 280x would be fine

Yeah, it should run it without problems, not at maximum settings though.

A non overclocked r9 270 (not the X) is like 2.6 TFLOPS. PS4 GPU is 1.84 TFLOPS . Xbox One is 1.31 TFLOPS. It will look plenty good.

The CPU recommendation is console advertising BS. 1) consoles use a AMD mobile chip that sucks clock for clock at 1.6-1.7 ghz and also has garbage cache. 2) game developers can only use 6 of those cores for games, so the "8 core" stuff is absolute BS. 3) This game is also on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

When you see a recommendation for a RPG of all things, that has a GTX 560 as recommended and says you need a I7? Just laugh. If recommended GPU was like 2 780TI's? Yeah a stock I7 might be nice. I don't think we will see that recommended on a GPU for a long time, and it wouldn't be a console port. Thief recommended an I7 and a Ivy Bridge I3 was faster then a stock 8350.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.

One thing to keep in mind is that the game is not out yet and we don't know how well it runs on anything. It could be a crappy port that runs bad on everything. It could be a port that only runs well on expensive HW. And Ubisoft has said that optimizing PC games is pointless because PC gamers will just go out and upgrade their PC is the games doesn't run well.

It could be an amazing port where the graphics settings scale very well for old & budget HW and for enthusiast HW. I'll give it 0.1% chance.
