Sceptre w55 backlight not working

Okay I got a sceptre w55 from someone and the backlight does not work. I used lights to shine into the TV and I can see that the screen works. Menus pop up. So I started the process of taking it apart. I'm down to the backlight. Plug it in and turn it on same thing no lights at all. Here's the question is it the led strips of the backlight that are bad or power to them. The header on the board only reads .6v on or off. Advise for no backlight.
