Is it RTX 3080 limitation or Samsung Odyssey monitor issue. Hmm...

I notice another issue on Odyssey monitor.

 

VRR Control - this should be always off unless you face flickering issue. Turning this on make the games stuttering. This happened to both my Odyssey Neo G8 and Neo G9, I google around it is also happen to Neo G7.

 

The only useful feature on VRR Control to me is when toggle the VRR Control ON/OFF do solved the scanlines issue, after toggle and the last setting should be off IMO. 😅

After more play around my PC and finally I fixed my Logitech G560 sound shuttering issue. I decide to finalize my 3 monitors setting now.

  • Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 - 12-bit, 240hz.
  • Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 - 10-bit, 144hz.
  • AOC 24G2SP - 8-bit, 165hz.

I found a new firmware update for Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 - version 1006.0 releaese on 2023-01-11, but It seems only available at Samsung Korean site.

 

I had update mine and success no issue.

No worried on last 4-digit region code, it still follows your origin region code and the firmware still support in English.

 

What are the changes, I had no idea. 😅

But it does solved one serious issue for me, my PC no longer had wake up from sleep issue when using DP.
