Very high power usage while gaming

Sorry if I'm using the wrong forum btw

While playing any game my taskmanager says i have very high power usage on the app leading to lot's of lag. I'm not very good on the technical side of computers so I'm not sure how to fix this issue.

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey. Windows Taskmanager saying that is actually normal. Most games are relatively resource intensive and so in relativity to other system processes running, they use a lot of power. However this normally isn't really an indication that something is causing lag on your PC. It's just meant to make you aware that the game (or another application) is using a lot of energy.

 

Could you tell us a bit more about the lag you are experiencing? Is the lag in an online game? Where you get stuttering and issues with falling behind the other players?

 

Is it lag in a local game where you experience that your input is executed way later then when you actually pres a button?

Yeah it's an online game and theres occasional stuttering where my ping jumps to 3k but apart from the huge jumps it still ranges from 40 - 350 ms delay

Pretty much any task that uses a substantial part of your CPU or GPU will result in task manager showing very high power useage.
