Budget (USD): $1700 for the tower

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple A games like elden ring, Minecraft with rtx, valorant, league of legends

Hey guys, I've finally decided to get a gaming pc after being a consoler gamer for most of my life, I just want some advice for building a PC tower for a maximum of $1700 USD.

So far I've decided for now I only need 1TB SSD and 32 GB ram
I main I just want advice on the CPU and GPU. For the GPU I want something futureproof, I was thinking along the lines of a RTX 3080 or 4070.
Also I'd appreciate if I could get advice on some mid range monitors. Im looking to get 2

Please be patient, I've only just started to learn about PC's through the channel

Welcome to the Forum and the world of PC gaming!   I bet you will get quite a few people giving you some lists here for builds within your price range. There are a lot of numbers to parts can seem quite confusing and dauniting at first. Hopefully people can explain a little as to why they picked certain parts as well. I would go through a list myself right now but its 4AM here and I need sleep, I'll check back tomorrow 😄 Good luck!

If it's $1700 USD(2550AUD), then you should be able to afford a 4070 ti. The reason why, when going with intel, the reason why you should go with at least 13500 instead of the 13400 variant is because it has 4 more efficiency core. Basically, the 13400 is closer  to 12600k specs and the 13500 close to 13600k.

I would pretty much go with this build here. Its pretty good in every regard except if you can swing it, the 5800X-3D CPU is much more Future-Proof. Despite being a generation old now, its keeping up with next-gen CPUs because of that 3D V-Cache.

3D V-Cache, as it turns out, is a BIG deal if you want your build to continue keeping up for years to come and not feel like you have to build again anytime soon...

If it is just 2500 bucks for the tower alone, here's something that scrapes in the redline, but performs really well at 1440p144hz settings which in my opinion is the current mid end standard next to 1080p240 and 360hz.

For recommendations, i highly recommend to check out Monitors Unboxed, part of the Hardware Unboxed/Techspot network. Also australian based, what they have reviewed and recommend are usually also available at your local big box store.
