Who Would be Stupid Enough to Buy a $1000 Game Console on Aliexpress?

Plouffe

We saw some questionable "game consoles" while browsing AliExpress, but when we found one that was being sold for about a thousand dollars, we knew we had to buy it. How many pirated games could it possibly hold, and just what do you get when you buy a Kinhank Super Console X G1?

Check out the KinHanK Super Console X G1 on AliExpress: https://lmg.gg/pqKi7

Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

In the video about the 1000$ aliexpress PC, Linus calls the M.2 SSD sata because of the M+B key configuration. While it might indeed be Sata, this is actually not necessarily a correct assumption, the M.2 standard specifies 2 PCIe lanes for B key. It isn't unheard of to see cheaper NVMe SSDs that only use 2 PCIe lanes be keyed in M+B key. Having bought a Kingston A1000 a couple years ago I can personally attest to this.

Now for the Video idea, Firstly testing a few B+M key NVMe SSDs in cheaper laptops that only feature B key. Secondly using an adapter such as this try higher end M key SDDs in a B key slot and compare the performance compared to a full x4 interface.

I wonder in order to get to that 120K+ list of games, if they included romhacks a well

well, to fit that many items in 2TB they'd have to average under 16MB Each, so...  They've gotta have a lot of small shit lol

I just logged it to write just that, after watching the video, but you beat me to it. Also we do have intel optane M.2 SSDs, that are NVME on B+M key configuration, and have 2 PCIe lanes.

LTT - Please stop trying to determine the M.2 protocol for the socket, or SSD visually, as you can only tell the M.2 key, that way, and the B, B+M, or M SSD can use ether ACHI (SATA), NVMe (PCIe), or even AHCI (SATA express, over PCIe), but well those are rare.
And the socket, is also a mystery, both the B, and M key, can have SATA, or PCIe lanes (and it can be 1 to 4 lanes).

Tekken (and the loading screen patent) is by Namco, not Konami.

The specs are laughable at best, and you can build something yourself that looks like this but performs much better. Just use a HTPC or Mini ITX desktop case, and go from there. Usually Silverstone has some pretty good ones that can rest comfortably on a desk or tv/entertainment stand just fine.
