Ryzen 5 3600 Cooling Solution

I have a R5 3600 with stock cooler and temps rise to about 90-91c while running r23 and max boost anywhere from 3899-3999 with PBO on and I wanted to switch out my cooler and was looking at the Bequiet Pure Rock 2. I have 2 sp120 in the front as intake and 1 sp120 as an exhaust. it was sufficient for my last build and I dont feel comfortable with those tempetures. does anyone have any more cooler suggestions? within 100 cad.

Additionally, also from ThermalRight and better are Phantom Spirit 120 and Frost Commander 140. You can also look at SE versions, which are a bit less powerful as far as I can tell.

 

SP120s are not impressive fans - even Corsair admits that. You could add other, stronger fans to feed the cooler more ambient air, too.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

yea I didn't research the fans enough and my case and those fans defiantly restrict airflow and over heat my cpu with the stock cooler

BTW, I found Kleo Yan on YT, and one of his cooler comparisons showed that the Arctic LCII outperformed the Galahad (and 3 others) on a 7950X. KGT's comparison was on a 5950X. Interesting, right, cuz KGT ranked it really low except for noise. I thought you'd be excited to know that. 😉

Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE is stronger than FC140 and PA120(SE). It is also 1mm shorter than PA120SE. With PS120SE you get a little more strength than a big FC140 in a little PA120SE size.

How did they manage to outdo a 140 with a 120 size?

They use a different heat pipe tech. I was highly skeptical of its 280w rating in such a small size, but it did as well as my FC140 and iPPC fans with its stock weak ARGB fans. Right now I am just running a single T30 in the center position.
