Higher end PC with monitor

Healadin

Budget (including currency): Around 3000 € (don't want to go too much overkill, but also not the cheapest build)

Country: Slovakia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I would like to go for 4k 120 Hz, doesn't have to be all ultra

So far I was looking at something like this:
CPU: AMD ryzen 7 7700X 372 €
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX4070 gaming OC 12G 737 €
RAM: Kingston 16 GB DDR5 6000 MHz CL36 Fury Beast Black RGB x2 76 € x2
MB: ASUS TUF gaming B650-PLUS WIFI 205 €
CPU cooler: ASUS ROG STRIX LC II 360 ARGB 235 €
SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 2TB 147 €
PSU: ASUS ROG STRIX 1000 W Gold Aura Edition 243 €
Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL ROG Certify Black 220 €
Network card: ASUS XG-C100C V2 130 €

Monitor: 32" Samsung Odyssey G70B 850 €

Total should be around 3300 € right now, which is OK.

I have Unraid server, that I am mostly using as NAS currently and Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Enterprise XG 24 (10 Gbit switch), so I want to use my Cat6a cabling to full potential and I was also looking at that Asus aura sync (and yes I noticed that PSU will probably be covered). I may go for 2 smaller monitors by the sides in the future (used to 2 to 3 screens). I would like to wall-mount my monitor and this Odyssey G7 seems kind of thick, so I am not really sold on it, not really sold on any of these components yet tbh, that is why I am posting here.

Any suggestions for improvements are more than welcome, also I might upgrade to 4090 in the future (second hand buy), so hopefully that 1000 W PSU would be enough.

I run a similar build.  Same CPU, Same Motherboard but a 4080.  I am only a gamer and I am extremely happy with the performance and I have absolutely no complaints about this.  A 1000w will be more than enough for a 4090 if you plan on upgrading later. A quality 750w would run the 4090 ( Not at the 600w mode obviously ) One can always tweak things here and there to save a dollar or two, your system looks good though 🙂

Not very good for the price...

With only a small downgrade to a cheaper 4K 28" monitor (plus I don't like much Samsungs they have too many manufacturing defects, and OLEDs are still too expensive)  you can get a top of the line rig for 3100EUR :

Interesting, didn't know there was also alza.de (its where I was looking for components so far - alza.sk)

But to the topic, is that ram fast enough? In review also LTT used 6000 ram and they told that tighter timing are better, (thats why I originally picked 6000 CL 36)

From benchmarks I've seen 3D chips don't scale with RAM speed, and fast 5600 give similar results to 6000MHz

Yea, not a bad idea to consider aswell, but I was planning to upgrade to 4090, when my friends employer will be upgrading workstations and sell them for cheap.

But I think it would be a bit overkill to use 4090 with 1440p monitor, don't you think? I mean atm I am using MSI laptop ith i7-6700H and 1060 3gb and 22" monitor (asus VE228HR), so everything will be an upgrade at this point 😄

I also found 32" version of monitor that PGifolco suggested, GIGABYTE M32UC and it goes for around 650 €, not curved version GIGABYTE M32U goes for 720 €, not sure if curvature is needed for that size, but I have never tried curved monitor, so accepting all advice aswell there. Also noticed this gigabyte monitor is VA and that oddysey G7 is IPS, not sure which is better? I mean probably I will be happy with anything at this point, but some advice would not hurt 😄

I guess it would depend on your eyes. Personally, at 32inch between decent panels when gaming, I see tittle difference between 1440p and 4k. But may be, you will. Plus, 4090 on 1440p isn't entirely bad. It's just like 3080 on 1080p. It basically means, that in 2-5yrs from now, you still have your current system, you would still be able to play latest games of that time at higher fps, unlike if you go with 4k. I mean my suggestion is base on you using multiple monitors. If you are going to play on multiple monitors, it would be better to get two 1440p, than two 4k monitors. However, if you would only play on a single monitor and use the other one for something else, then you can do what I do, one 1440p and one 4k monitor. If you are concerns with the aesthetics, there are actually several monitors that has the same design/model but different resolution. So no one would know which one is 1440p and 4k until the pc is turned on.

yes, that was my idea, to have 4k as main monitor and secondary just for youtube/discord etc

I already bought most of my components, those that are performance related:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X (370 €)
RAM: kingston Fury renegade 2x 16GB 6000 MHz CL32 (134 €)
GPU: asus dual RTX 4070 OC 12G (650 €)

RAM was only like 10 € more than fury beast CL36, since thighter timing should be better, I guess it was better option
that model of GPU is already gone - were listed for like 3 days, so I guess it was a lucky buy

what is left for me to buy is the monitor... I am still tempted by 4k and would rather play on medium details for now and upgrade GPU in the future (already mentioned that second hand 4090 from friends workstation) and multimonitor (for like youtube or some guides/chat/discord etc) is something I will just go for instead of ultrawide

from what I have seen so far, there monitors like:
GIGABYTE M32U - 32" 144Hz, 350 nits, VA panel (750 € )
GIGABYTE M32UC - same but curved a bit (720 €)
Samsung Odyssey G7 Neo - 32" 165Hz, 350 nits, mini led (not sure if its type?) (1125 €)
ASUS ROG strix XG32UQ - 32" 160Hz, 600 nits, IPS (1180 €)
some MSI's etc.

monitors I dont usually upgrade, so I am wiling to go for more expensive one, just cannot decide which is better choice(for example VA vs IPS), but not just marginally (so its not like 30% higher price for 1% improvement)
