FX 8320 or i5 4570 ? help !

I am torned up between the two, I am currently set for the FX 8320 and overclock it, but they say i5-4570 is good ? 

 

either of this two will be paired up with a GTX 760

 

I will just use this for gaming , recording and programming.

i5-4570, I own a 8320, i'm happy with it, but i'm 99% sure the 4570 is better, even at stock speeds.

I love AMD but go i5, try and get one with a unlocked clock. The AMD option has better graphics most of the time but you're probably going to install a graphics card so why not get the better CPU?

considering it's a gaming pc you should go with the i5. even if they're close to even you don't need the extra cores, and in single core performance the i5 wins.

I have the 8350 (pretty much the same as 8320) and it's great. However, because alot of programs and games don't quite use 8 cores yet I would say go with the i5

If your gaming go with Intel they offer higher single core performance which will benefit games more than tons of cores.

I'm not going to argue which one is better but I have the 8320 and even on some of the latest game not every core is used so there is excess power.

But with intel it renders better an gives smoother application performance.

Like when I use auto desk maya or 3ds max on an intel rig it's really smooth workflow. But even though my AMD rig is more powerful these applications seem really buggy.

AMD is usually a performance card used alot for Video Editing, AutoCAD, etc. which I'm guessing you aren't going to use so I suggest the intel.

 

The intel has higher per core clock than the amd which makes it better for gaming.

The amd on the other hand, has more cores which is mostly used in Workstations.

i5 deff. i have 8350 but so far intel is much superior in cpus. once programs and games start using 8 cores then we will see

The 4570 doesn't come in a K version, so it is quite difficult to overclock. the only i5 that has a K version is the 4670.

Definitely 8320. You're comparing unlocked 8 core goodness to locked quadcores that run hotter than molten lava.

Games like battlefield 4, far cry 3, crysis 3 and metro last light all can take advantage of up to eight cores.

You have that back to front, Intel is better for rendering. I use intel and amd for game development and animation. And lower gen intel renders faster than my current machine (Signature). But games run better on my AMD machine

No and no. Cheapest board for a 8320 is atleast 80$ with no overclocking headroom where we would have 40$ Intel boards.

8320, buy an asrock 970 extreme3\4 mobo( 80 $), oc the processor. the 4570 is a good processor but is locked. the amd get a clear win there it give more bang for $ that the i5

Just go a little bit further with the "future proofing" and get a 4670k. Slap a 212evo on it in a few months and squeeze a little bit more performance out of it!
