Need advice on AIO positioning

Go to solution Solved by emosun,

nope. pump needs to be lower than the rad/tubes to prevent the air pocket from being in the pump.

if you dont need water cooling then don't get it. there's nothing wrong with air cooling. my machine was 7k and is air cooled. Nobody really needs water cooling unless their environment is overly hot or they are running the parts overly hard or beyond spec.

I'm thinking of getting an AIO, but there's one thing putting me off. Every video I've watched or every image I've seen has the tubing coming from the radiator over the RAM and onto the CPU block. My PC sits on my desk to my right and has a full tempered glass side, so I see everything. I've got a very nice, clean set up at the moment so having the pump tubes just going right across my RGB ram is just gonna look horrendous.

So my question is, is it ok to have the pump tubes running to the CPU block from the bottom? Is it even possible to have it positioned that way? As I mentioned, every video or image I've seen, the CPU block is always positioned so that the tubes are on the right of the block.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Thank you, that was all I needed to know. I probably don't need it at this very moment, but the room I have my PC in gets very dry and hot during the winter when the heating is on and all the electronics are running.

Thanks for the quick answer. 🙂

ok well water cooling isn't going to help if you are just blowing hot air through a radiator. You'll just end up with similar temps to a decent air cooler. lowering the room temp and using colder air to cool the equipment will make more of a difference.
