i am planing a new build with stuff that i am no longer using. i have a GTX 660 for the GPU and i have two CPU that i can choose from and i dont know witch one would do better with the GPU

CPU 1 AMD A10 5800k

CPU 2 AMD 760k

now i know what some of you might be thinking now just build one test it and then build the other and test it witch ever dose the best wins and i would do this BUT the GTX 660 is water cooled so cant test them together with out building a loop and taking it apart and building another loop and might have to take that one apart.  im not going to be buying anything for this build i have everything already so please not suggest buying something. im going to be building this use it for the summer and then selling maybe.

760k, the 5800k is an APU, which means it has higher power iGPU then most CPUs but at the cost of lower CPU performance.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Trinity and Richland CPUs are the same architecture. Turbo mode dosen't really work with these CPUs because of their TDP limitations. If you own both i would go with the one that overclocks better. If you have to buy the cpu first i would buy a 750K and overclock.

The 760K is Richland based which is built on an optimized 32nm process, so it overclocks considerably better than the 5800K. Both have identical CPU architectures and identical clock speeds so if you're not overclocking it makes no difference.

760K is much faster than even the fastest AMD APU....since you already have a graphics card go with the CPU ! ;)

No, it isn't.. It uses the same architecture.

760k makes more sense in this case. it will run a bit cooler and so you should be able to overclock it a bit higher. 4.5-4.6ghz is about average for them.

The 760k is a Richland based CPU with a disabled GPU component. Not to sound like a broken record. The 760k is a great chip to pair with your GTX660.

Use a cooler like the Coolermaster 212 evo or plus for better cooling and for OC.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
