Only worth for scientific computing that requires FP64.

Otherwise, just get a rtx3000/rx6000 series GPU for games.

what you think about radeon VII gpu

They're a enterprise GPU that AMD sold to the masses. They're not very reliable cards, and they're pretty slow for what they are (RX 5700 XTs are usually cheaper and faster). They're not super common cards to find, and they were in very high demand during the mining boom so odds are whatever Radeon VII you would find will likely be a mining card.

Unless it's incredibly cheap, you should probably avoid it.

Plus the HBM on the die...die and since they are on the core on these cards, they end up as a paper weight due to abusive mining so it's best to avoid at all costs when there are better performing cards that are cheaper and more reliable.

One thing though is the Radeon VII is a beautifully aesthetic graphics card and wish they brought the style back (but please change those ugly translucent fan blades).

They really were. Kinda reminds me of the HD 6690 (doesn't make that much sense, I know), I really like that sleek aesthetic.

Yup, that's what I heard too, unreliable and mining. A bummer, but oh well

There's a lot of hit or miss on how they actually die. It's about a 50/50 chance on if you're buying a donor board or one that still has a good GPU. The GPU is massive and most/all of them are slightly concave.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Do you happen to know whether the coolers are designed for that? Would be kinda weird, but I do not see how they could fix it otherwise, other than "a whole bunch of thermal paste"

And was there a thing about most heat spreaders (I know that the die is different) being slightly concave anyway, which is why lapping is/used to be a thing?
