Rate my PC that I built in 2020-ish that I still use today... and give me something to upgrade

I built this in 2020-ish and haven't posted it here so I figured I'll do it now haha

I'd appreciate some upgrade paths too!

I am getting semi-weird FPS, but I do think that's because I have a 60hz monitor so VSync is being annoying. I am upgrading the monitor very soon tho to one that supports up to 165hz and FreeSync Premium.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX570 4GB
  • RAM: HyperX (now Kingston) Fury RGB 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB)
  • PSU: Seasonic FOCUS GX 650W
  • Motherboard: ASUS Prime B450 Plus
  • SSD (NVMe): Samsung 980 NVMe 250GB
  • SSD (SATA): A 500GB SATA one I salvaged from an old laptop
  • HDD: 1TB SSHD I salvaged from an old desktop
  • Fans: 3x beQuiet Pure Wings 120mm (2 at the front, 1 at the back)
  • Case: Corsair 275R Airflow White

Disclaimer: I have moved the bottom front fan to the middle. I have no idea why I put it there to begin with lmao. It's an old pic so that's also my old SSD too.

get a 5 pack of p12 fans for 30 bucks and fill those three holes with fans with the two at the top as intake and the one at the front middle as intake.

And then i would upgrade the gpu to something better like a 6700 xt or if your budget is lower then an rx 580

With the rx 580 that would be under 200 bucks. with the 6700 xt that would be 380 bucks with the 5 pack of p12 fans

also just advice, turn off V-sync. Only helpful with screen tearing sometimes but gives a huge latency hit (bump up in latency) if you only want 60 fps and nothing more just put in a 60 fps cap with something like rivatuner

Overall the system is good, but i'd upgrade the GPU, I dont have any tips on which card to choose, as idk your budget, resolution, preferred settings and if you want to buy used or not.

I have tried everything, capping at 50, 60, different settings for VSync to no avail. I'll just get a high refresh rate monitor with FreeSync anyways.

Here in Sweden, not a lot of people sell used GPUs, and especially not in my little town. Although I'd love to buy used, refurbished and stuff from online sites.

If you're asking about upgrades, it'd be beneficial to list what your budget is, in the currency that you buy in, and perhaps where you buy your parts from.

The entire system is a little on the slow side. I'd see if you can find yourself a 5000 series CPU, and a better GPU. Your cooling is fine, so is your storage.

What speed is your RAM?

The RX580 is a horrible suggestion if you already have an RX570; they're basically the same card, and not at all worth spending the money on.

Somewhere around 300-400ish dollars. I do use SEK (Swedish Crowns) but the conversion is pretty simple for a rough one, just add an extra zero for the SEK price.

300 dollars becomes 3000 SEK. Not super accurate but it's ok.
