Help with finding Operating System for Word Processor

Hello, I recently bought a Japanese imported Sharp WD-615 word processor and I'm having trouble finding info about it.

I was wondering if the community can help me find the original Operating System and find some paperwork or specs for the system?

Sorry Reddit couldn't help you. best I could find is that Sharp has a whole series of WD word processors and a single reference to the series on an obscure japanese computer museum website

I can provide you with some advice on searching for information in Japanese.

When searching for information on the Sharp WD-615 in Japanese, you can use the following search terms:

シャープ (Sharp) WD-615 ワードプロセッサ (word processor)

You can combine these terms in a search engine like Google to see if any relevant results appear. For example, you can try searching for "シャープ WD-615 ワードプロセッサ" or "シャープ WD-615 説明書" (the latter term means "manual").

If you find any websites with information in Japanese, you can use online translation tools like Google Translate to translate the content into English or another language of your choice.

Additionally, you can try searching on Japanese websites, forums, or social media platforms to see if there are any discussions or resources related to the Sharp WD-615 word processor. Keep in mind that you may need to create an account to access some of these platforms or to post your own questions.

I actually found this website and was surprised to find they didn't have the 600 series of Sharp word processors...

I actually did try to email them but they have a region lock so I hit a hard stop sign. I did email the business email for Linus media group but so far no response...

Reddit did help me learn it should be a Dos based OS, and a YouTube video makes me think I need to order a "low format floppy disk" to reinstall the OS

Using Google Lens I was able to search for the Japanese wording that's on the back of the system. But it still results in nothing that specifically matches my systems model

@dubedube11Your model seems to be a variation1,2 of the WD-6103 (which is different to the WD-A610). Try to find a manual for that on Japanese auction sites would be the best bet. The manual that you need to find is the one below which was last seen on auction in 20114.

Words I've been using to search for the equipment/manual.

ワープロ: Word Processor

取扱説明書 or 取説 : Instruction Manual

書院 : Brand name

OA機器 : Office Equipment

ジャンク : Junk

Sharp シャープ

Edit:

Most recent mention of the manual on Twitter.
