I like that one. And a R9 280 is enough power for a single monitor, so I don't think you'll CrossFire them anytime soon. A 500W power supply is enough. Personally, I would get 600W, and because I'm an overclocker, but a 500W is good if you leave everything as is.

People underestimate the 280. It gets about 5-10 frames more than the 760, and has mantle support. As for the PSU, I would have, but it would have put him $15 over budget, assuming his budget is about $780 (based on his posted build)

I know. That's why I said personally, and I said a 500W is good for him.

This build will beat the the rest in this thread. If you want it a bit cheaper, remove the SSD.

+1 for this build.  The NZXT 410 costs too much in my opinion.

If they aren't bent on overclocking, the i5 4430 can be had for $ 99   :o

Other than that, really nice build.

Why the r9 280 and not the gtx 760?Also if i plan to sli/crossfire, will my present psu still be overkill?

It is slightly cheaper, and slightly better performing. Its basically a re banded 7950, which competes with the 670, which the 760 sorta takes the place of.

No, but you always want to go with stronger GPU's instead of adding one.
