The house in the us is a two story house.  it also has a basement.  Modem and router is in the second floor because the main users are on the second floor.  But not only that, that was where the internet was installed years ago.

We use the wifi on the first floor and basement.  However, sometimes the signal isn't that great in the basement.  But it got improved when we bought a new wireless router last time.  So the wifi is decent.

Now is there a way to get wired internet on the basement somehow?   What about first floor?  Now i know if you connect a long 50 feet ethernet cable that would work but it would be cable dangling through the doors and floor and wall so not something you want.  Would be very hard to get the ethernet cable to basement?  Now is there a way to somehow get wired internet somehow in basement?  We have an old netgear wireless router that we replaced with a better router few years ago that was our primary router that was next to the modem in the second floor.  The modem and newer router is same location on second floor.  Heard if you have an extra wireless router, you can somehow do wired internet on another floor or this isn't possible?  Would you have to buy certain equipment for this?  The thing is we want the modem to stay where it is at.  So what is the best option to get wired internet on basement if that is even possible?  Not even sure it would be possible to get the modem to basement?  We do not want this though.

Go through the Attic and see if the walls have a through spot to the basement. IF the house has any insulation this is not likely going to work, and you will have to go  through the walls in order for this to work.

Ethernet is possible anywhere if you're willing/able to crack open some walls or crawl around in the attic.

Well of course it's possible, just is it practical. How much work do you want to put into it. Is your basement finished? Having the second story complicates things, as you will likely have to cut and patch some drywall.

If you don't have any experience running cable, or fishing lines in walls, with this being a two story house, it maybe a case you want to at least get an estimate from an electrician to see what it would cost from someone who does this everyday. They will do it much quicker, and make much less mess. I know even in my single story home, with an attic, I spent most of the day in the attic wiring my house. A pro probably would have been done in a 2-3 hours.

If you don't care where the wire ends up, hopefully just straight down is ok?  (Below the room with the modem) As this would allow you to just go through cut into the the existing walls. and drill the bottom and top plates to drop the wire through. Problem being is you will need to cut enough of the dry wall out to do this. In both the first and second floor. I just use keystones and plates on both ends every time I've done it:
