Overclockable CPU vs Non Overclockable CPU

Is the price difference justified? (not only the difference between a non k and a k, but also between the H (and b series) mobos and the Z series overclocking-capable motherboards.

If so, how?

The price difference is about £30. I'd probably not bother suggesting a non-K at that price difference regardless of intentions to overclock.

Prices vary from region to region and depending on which parts you're comparing.

What is appropriate also depends on the situation.

For gaming, you'll get the biggest performance increase from overclocking your graphics card(s). I would say CPU overclocking (unless you have a dinosaur CPU) is more of an enthusiast/epeen thing. That said, I still overclocked mine.

Zx7 mobos are worth every cent. And K-series CPU's are usually worth it (everything after the 4770K is just a waste of money). The Xeon E3-somethingsomethingsomethingsomething is basically an i7 with no iGPU and more limited overclocking abilities, and it's usually cheaper than the i7, so it's totally worth it.
