I need help installing Ubunto

I need help, I've made an install flash using Rufus, and I have ubuntu-16.04.6-desktop-i386 on it because the laptop is 32 bit. And also from the year 2008.

But when I put the flash in and boot from it, this happens;

I know this isn't supposed to happen because I've installed Ubunto this way before and it has always worked.

When I google "No Catching Mode Found" I only find answers for people who have already installed Ubunto and have this error, I can't find any help about getting this error while tryng to install ubunto.

For reference I have windows XP on this old laptop. Maybe it's causing issues?

For further reference, I have to get this laptop working xD "Sentimental value" and all that.

Here is a picture of the bios if that helps.

The first thing I'd try is to get a different memory stick, redownload ubuntu, and create a new instalation media, then try the install again.

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

It worked. I can't believe that you literally had me do the equivalent of turning it on and off again. Well I feel dumb now. But I guess people who have the same issue will find this thread in the future so.

Thanks 😄

Don't feel dumb for trying!

(By the way, it is Ubuntu, not Ubunto)

Another thing... You should consider 18.04

16.04 is acient by now! 18.04 is still Supported until April this year and had 32bit support.

If it has been done before, I can do it...

If it has never been done, just leave me some time to find a way!

or go the really easy way.... if you have a windows on the same system... you can just use the windows installer: downloads , installs and sets up dual boot automaticly ,... and allows you to select from different flavors aswel as add your own flavor to the isntaller if its not int there :

website + info :

download here :

- installer https://github.com/hakuna-m/wubiuefi/releases/download/20044r344/wubi20044r344.exe

- all versions (https://github.com/hakuna-m/wubiuefi/releases)

old image but you get the idea , and yes you can install to any drive that has enough free space , you dont need to reformat or repartition the drive , it will just appear as a folder on the drive in windows (and has an uninstaller aswerll) , install  and reboot to anybuntu

His issue is not with the USB stick anymore... It works now!

The issue is that he uses a 32bit system, and the latest 32bit versions of Ubuntu enter EOL in a few days...

If it has been done before, I can do it...

If it has never been done, just leave me some time to find a way!
