Tiny10/Tiny11?

Go to solution Solved by owosoup,

If you're looking for a modified Windows version, I'd recommend Ghost Spectre. I installed it on my PC and it's very stable, very light, and forgiving of mistakes.
You can choose to install it with Windows defender or not, there are multiple ISO files to choose. It's free, but can be very stripped-down.
I'm talking no windows hello and default media player. There's windows 10 and 11, too.
There are good tutorials on youtube to install it, if you need, and newer version install the same as older ones.
They have a lot of power user tools included in the Ghost Toolbox which you can run if connected to the internet to (i.e.) download your initial browser
(there isn't Edge preinstalled 馃槃).

The bad thing about it is that it won't automatically download drivers for everything, so you'll have to search a bit. It's an easy fix though.

In the description are all the links you could ever need, windows home or pro, 10/11, etc.
If you're worried about it being a privacy concern, that's a valid argument, and I won't force you to migrate on it.
But hey, original windows is spyware anyway, so it wouldn't change much...

I'm on the fence about these OS because you just never know, but also what about regular security updates and is there a more "official" way I can remove bloatware? I'm just curious what everyone else's experiences have been since I like the idea of freeing up my CPU usage more. Being able to use increase the performance of my older PC (i7-2600k/R9 290) or even my surface Go, but more importantly I have ordered the GPD Win4 and It'd be nice to get an idea now if I should use Tiny11 or not.

Just use windows 10 or 11 the difference between these os's in terms of performance is so small it's not worth the hassle.

You can use the typical scripts to remove the actual bloatware and not remove system needed parts.

I have nothing good to say about Tiny11.

it is a broken piece of garbage made by a complete craclpot lunatic that had no idea what he's doing.

Tiny11 does nothing to improve the performance of your computer, it just literally tears the OS to shreds until there's nothing there anymore. it's like a shred of cloth over your shoulder is lighter than a shirt - but it's not a functional shirt anymore.

if you want windows 11 to be less bloaty.. just manually cull the stuff you dont need, it's not actually all that heavy of an OS, and most certainly completely nuking the builtin drivers isnt a workable solution.

I've yet to get on windows 11 because I haven't heard anything good about it, especially considering I have an AMD 5800x and the inability to move the task bar is kind of a deal breaker. Doesn't help that I also hear MS is always breaking the "hack" to fix the task bar. But my Win4 will be on Win11, Good to know now about TinyOS being garbage though.

It's not *entirely* garbage, but the performance improvements you get from that (or Tiny10) isn't worth the hassle.

If you're just looking for Windows without the bloatware, check out the N version line. It's pretty much barebones Windows. It's a mild pain since you also need to manually install the聽Media Feature Pack and whatnot, but I'm much more trustworthy of an official windows version than a modified community ISO.
