Does the Erying diy board have pice4 or just pcie3?

Just wondering.

If it’s got pcie4 it’s the solution for most gaming period.  You just don’t need all that much cpu past a certain point for gaming.  If all it’s got is pcie3 it’s still A solution, but only for low end stuff because there is a bandwidth limit of around a 3070 on the main pcie card slot. Could build a kind of kicking $500 pc with that.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Not sure why @Bombastinator assumed everybody was familiar, I wasn't until this video dropped earlier today.

It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Neither was I everything I know about it actually came from that video.

I consider myself rather out of the loop, so I figured at least someone had had it for a week or more.   The thing doesn’t say whether it has any pcie beyond pcie3 though so I was wondering.

Likely this: https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005011052780.html

Specs mention

  • M.2 Slots: M.2 NVMe pci-e 4.0x4 *2

So, presumably PCIe 4.0?

That’s a different page than the one I got.  Very complete.  If it’s got pcie4, it’s usable at any level of gaming except top end despite the 2166mhz memory.  The cpu is fast enough and you can put any video card you want to on it.  I might think of a 6400 for a low end system.

This seems like the new low for a high refresh 1080p gaming machine

so replace the cpu and motherboard with that and you get slower memory but two more cores.  Replace the 6400 with something huge and you get 4k high refresh gaming for super cheap.  Would be weird that the video card costs 4 times what the rest of the system does but I think it would work.

Craft Computing released a video on these today as well

Yes, 4.0 x16 supported on those tiger lake Erying combos. Resizable bar is supported as well. Unlike what Dawid says, XMP works but does limit speed (the sellers say 3200mhz) and there is no customization. For example, it sets my ddr4 3600 to 3400mhz oddly enough.

The 11980hk equivalent ES are overclockable. 11900h and 11800h are NOT overclockable. On all of them though, you can adjust the BCLK to get a slight OC.

Due to the thermal issues, I'd just say go with the 11800h version if you do it.
