This is just a tips thread for living under the radar under the internet. Lets all post our tips.

Linustechtips is guilty of using Google Analytics and we don't want to be stalked by it.

First tips: USE FIREFOX. Chrome rocks but logs everything. EVERYTHING. Use disconnect and ghostery plugins, also use adblock. This stops people from easily stalking you.

I'm going to be honest, I don't care if someone knows where I been *besides my parents of course xD* but other than that, so what you caught me googling how to hack the government to make mac and cheese free.

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.

Why would you live under the radar? Did you kill someone? Are you stealing something? I never understood this paranoia. The reason goverments look at what you do when they look at what you do is to make sure you are not doing anything. Using these ways to hide just makes them more popular and easier to access to people who actually do all the bad things that need this type of secrecy.

Fake your identity, buy an internet cafe in another country (maybe even another continent, doesn't really matter, it's going to be a distraction), then learn to imitate dialup modem sounds and use Internet through the phone booth (with 8192-bit RSA encryption) across the road from the cafe, but rememver to place four extra payphones around it and make only one of them being connected to the ISP (chosen randomly every six hours with a fair d5 roll). Use this setup whenever you want to go online (except every fifth full moon of any leap year).

Or just be boring as hell in your Internet activity and NSA will give up on you in two months, three at most.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

Yeah, there's no way to live "under the radar" and your kidding yourself if you think it's possible. The average stalker isn't going to get through a VPN or anything equivalent, Stalkers aren't who you should be worried about when online anyway....

Could try Ghostery and Disconnect. I don't know how well they really work but supposedly they block Analytics and all the social media tracking garbage, and that's enough to break some news websites that have 3127238548 different versions.

Chrome still records. You get a binary, not source. You can't trust it to be truly private,

Also: Tor / I2P

Hence, "loljk"

I think you mean NoScript, guess Ghostery does similar things.

To fly under the radar you have to be off the radar, so don't use your computer which has your name on it somewhere and files related to you. You need an independent OS like Tails or even a regular non-pay OS (aka Linux) that has no tags associated to you, which means you better use a computer you didn't buy officially or know how to change MAC addresses. Then don't use your internet connection (aka home), try "borrowing" an internet connection that has nothing to do with you. Then, after all that you still need to not use your name or anything associated to you in your use of that computer, don't log in to your default e-mail account or LTT as the user with the e-mail directly associated with you.

Again, true off the radar, if you want to pretend then just open up a new tab and think you're off the radar.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I find all this paranoia a bit over the top. Who cares if they have your browsing information, all they use it for is to better target ads. Unless you have done something wrong then you have no need to try and hide yourself. Google is a trustable company I trust them with my credentials. Unless I had a high profile or did something bad enough that people would go searching through my browsing data I would just be cautious.

This isn't about cyber stalkers. It's about monitoring and fingerprinting. Not to mention what you said made no sense.

I've done alot of research about this stuff. There's not much you can do when it comes to installing software on your computer itself to prevent the nsa stalking you. A VPN is usually good, I don't trust free ones too much except for a few. I don't use tor or anything like that. I just change alot of settings to the most secure. In chrome I have Ghostery, AdBlock+, https everywhere, and ZenMate (vpn plugin). One thing I found out recently, In iOS 7,  other than all the other privacy measures, there is something called Frequent Locations. It's under General-Privacy-Location Services-System Services. It tracks everywhere you go. I turned it off. I get so carried away with security that I think that Apple and Android might have installed backdoors on purpose for the nsa to snoop through and they just don't tell the public.

Not using social sites like Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc is the best start to not being tracked.
