Hi guys. (excuse my english, i am from Norway :) )

I am pretty new to building computers. Up to this point i have used gaming-laptops. but i am looking for something with more power. I have saved up money for this project for a long time and I'm going to build a pretty overpowerd rig. Since i am new to all this I have some questions.

I'm going to use two monitors, mostly gaming and some photo/video editing.

Possible specs on future build:

Corsair 900 D

MSI Z87 MPower, socket 1150

Kingston DDR3 HyperX Beast 32GB 2400 MHz

Intel i7 4770K

2 x MSI geForce 780TI Gaming LE 3GB

2 x Samsung SSD 840 Evo in Raid 1

Some other HDD for storage.

I am going to overclock the cpu and i am planning to make a watercooling loop atleast for the cpu to begin with. Maybe later i will add watercooling to the gpu aswell. So my questions:

- How powerful do the powersupply need to be?

- Do i need extra case-fans?

- Does the graphic cards come with an SLI-Brigde?

Thanks and feel free to come with suggestions and tips :)

1. In your case, I would get a 850watt maybe a 1,000 watt power supply to be on the safe side (you never could be too safe on that)
2. The case you have comes with fans, to run with out over heating the system, so I would add some if you want to keep the system cool.
3. Yes they do, each GPU comes with a SLI Bridge

Dude, why the 900D? Get a 750D and be happy, or a 350D sounds like you won't be water cooling anytime soon

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.

I don't think you need a 900D for a build like that. Unless you're planning on putting like 10 hard drives in there... As for your questions, your graphics cards should come with one, and also your motherboard also should come with an SLI bridge too (At least ASUS includes them), most cases come with enough fans, however you can buy better ones and replace the existing ones, and I'd say get a 800-1000W PSU

Im not an expert on powersupplies and case fans but for Nvidia cards, the sli bridge comes with the motherboard.

I will be watercooling i am a little om the fance about the water cooling for the gpu yet but i am pretty sure i will do that to some time. I would like the 900D because it gives me so much room to later add radiators if I am going to expand the loop :)

Thanks for the help :)

Scrap the 900D plan, if you are serious about water cooling use a 750D. I very very rarely see a 900D that looks full, even with water cooling.

I personally, would not do custom loop water cooling for your first build. Its just a little too much to go wrong when you are still unfamiliar with the whole process. If you want to liquid cool get a nice AIO liquid cooler for the CPU. A custom loop for just a CPU does not make sense.

Memory is also a bit on the excessive side. For 90% of people who do photo/video editing for fun will have no problems with 16gb.

SSD's in Raid 1? I know there is a bit of talk on the interwebz that say that SSD's are super unstable and will fail you some time soon, but its all hogwash. For almost all non professional users SSD's will outlast HDD's. You can put SSD's in Raid 1 but I dont think it makes any sense. If you really really really want to do raid, go raid 0, if you are less interested just get a single larger SSD.

Get a nice 800-850w psu, preferably semi-modular or Modular unit from a good manufacturer.

SLI bridge will come with any motherboard that supports SLI.

CPU: i9-13900k MOBO: Asus Strix Z790-E RAM: 64GB GSkill  CPU Cooler: Corsair H170i

GPU: Asus Strix RTX-4090 Case: Fractal Torrent PSU: Corsair HX-1000i Storage: 2TB Samsung 990 Pro

just a suggestion: corsair 900D is ridiculously spacious, but too heavy to move around and is Ultra-ATX Size (367x244) but still comparitively looks small inside. why not go for a shuttle build? that is compact but looks classy? just a suggestion feel free to shoot

get a 850W power supply, it should be plenty. unless you want to go with a 1000W.

The case comes with 2 fans, but you might want to add a few in to keep the system cool.

Yes, the graphics card comes with an SLI bridge.

May i ask, why for the Corsair 900D? i think it's too big and it will look uneven if you don't fill the spaces up. Just get the Corsair 750D like what other people have said or get the NZXT Switch 810.
