Battlefield 4 Crouch Problem

In Battlefield 4 I use one of the side buttons on my Deathadder mouse to crouch but it doesn't work.  I have it bound as a keyboard function to press the left control key but it doesn't register properly for some reason.  

 

It works fine as the control button out of the game, but when playing it just spins my character around really fast, does anyone know of a solution?

Try and bound it to the C key.

I'm not sure if you are already doing this, but bind left control as key press in that mouse button. Like I have knife, firemode and vehicle cameras bound to mouse with keyboard shortcuts 5, P and I. Then when you press mouse ingame, it acts like the keyboard. Other way is to bind two keys to same action. So one would be left control and other some key you don't normally use (other than chatting).

Yes I initially tried binding one of the buttons on my mouse to act as the 'Ctrl' button on my keyboard but it was making me spin in-game for some reason.  I've now got it so crouch is the 'c' key on my keyboard and the button on my mouse is bound to press 'c' on the keyboard but I'd prefer a solution where I can keep it as 'Ctrl' rather than 'c'.

Ah... sounds like conflicting bind. Or if mouse software has different option on how keypress is emulated, there's some setting to adjust.

But when the mouse is bound to the 'Ctrl' key on the keyboard it works fine out of game and in-game 'Ctrl' isn't bound to anything else.
