I broke the tab for securing things into my motherboards only PCIe 4x16 slot, the only other slot is a 3x16 slot, would there be a signifigance performance difference for a 6700xt between PCIex4 and PCIex3?

Me too ! 😞

It still works fine, maybe a very heavy GPU like a 4090 will have tendency to fall off, but then you can get a riser cable if your case allows for vertical mounting

With no other factors, no, PCIe 3 and PCIe 4 will perform near identically for an RX 6700 XT. That said, on motherboards that have both Gen 4 and Gen 3 x16 slots, the Gen 3 slot is not really wired up for full x16 operation, usually only topping out at 4 lanes total, and Gen 3x4 PCIe lanes will definitely have a major performance difference compared to Gen 3 x16 or Gen 4 x16.

Depending on how broken it is, you're probably perfectly fine using the PCIe 4.0 slot, even if the locking tab is broken.

On B660 motherboards, the PCI-E 3.0 X16 slot is typically NOT at X16 speed electrically.

It is physically X16 but it is electrically X4.

The GPU would be bandwidth starved at PCI-E 3.0 @ X4.

If the locking tab is broken / missing, the slot should *still* be okay to use.

The mounting screws on the back should help hold it in place.

Depends how damaged the PCI-E 4.0 X16 slot is...
