Not a bad video, but im a bit disappointed this wasn't more looking into testing the various parts to see what actually makes a difference for latency and what doesn't. There are so many hacks and tricks and pc optimizing services that claim to reduce latency that a video looking into what actually does it could have been very useful.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure for watercooling the Torrent's not actually as insanely good of a case as it would be if everything was being done with air cooling. Makes me wonder how much it actually helps or how much going for a different case might be able to lower the price while still giving sufficient cooling to the GPU.

I'm aware Linus' time is valuable; I would have much preferred him to not be here and have this done in a slightly more scientific manner than vice versa.

Spent 11k on the best PC you can

Use Windows 11.

Where's the facepalm emoji when you need it?

Although the sound card is probably better than most use it’s far from top of the range.

As I also do audio and video on my gaming rig I have a (rather old now) original RME Babyface, which is substantially better than the Audient unit in the video, but if you really want to raise the bar right up there there’s the ADI-2 series:

https://www.rme-audio.de/adi-2-4-pro-se.html

It would be interesting to see what difference this would make?

Well, that was a useless video.

Just throw a build together, get sponsers, get Linus to be goofy and there we have it, video of the day.

Not trying to hate anyone, I love LTT content, but from time to time, there are videos that have very little entertainment value.

Every now and then you get an LTT video that seems like it would have more time and data involved, but doesn't.

The best example I can think of is the SSD comparison video where they said the SATA SSD was the best, while also using outdated or underspecced M.2 SATA and NVMe drives.

I believe they moved testing to Windows 11 because Windows 10 wasn't doing a good job taking advantage of Intel 12th Gen P and E cores. With Linux not being used because not everyone at LMG is comfortable with Linux some of their test suite stuff not being Linux compatible and if this was a semi-rushed video to help create a buffer which would have Linus, he's usually unlucky when it comes to Linux stuff.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the LTT video M.O.

What could have been a highly interesting video (CS:GO has a native Linux client)

To make comparisons against Win10, 11 and Linux WRT ultimate performance on this system, instead turned into another wasted potential.

Anthony was doing the video....their main Linux go-to guy, I get Linux not being used for every testbench video, but for this one it was a no-brainer.

Anthony wasn't actually doing the video he was simply a host similar to Linus. The writer for the video was Adam.

I'd like to point out something, I think there is this wide spread misconception that we are much less latency sensitive because of the known human average reaction time, so I'd like you to share this info.

These videos and article convey what I'm trying to say about latency and competitive gaming better, English is my second language so they do a better job than I could ever do. Visual latency of 5 ms can be detected by humans

Lastly BlurBusters' article

Input Lag and the Limits of Human Reflex | Page 2 | Blur Busters

hopefully info carries to future videos 🙇‍♂️
