Which ones are you looking at specifically? I'm looking at an Intel AX210 and only see the same main and aux terminals as any other WiFi card.

I’m looking for the best bang that’ll last and while trying to figure out what to get I learned of Wi-Fi 6e which the third band would work well for me but if I can use Wi-Fi 6 I’ll be happy

The thing with upgrading the wifi card is, that most laptops are pretty much restricted to the cards they came with. So you probably can replace it with the same model. The is no way to say if a newer type card would be recognized. You can get a used one and try it out if you like, although you probably won't find a used one with the latest standard. If you want a faster type wifi adapter, you could simply get a usb adapter. Btw. to make use of the latest wifi standard, you would have to upgrade your home network as well. So until you do, there will be benefit in upgrading.

Btw. are you sure the card is bad? Does it show up in device manager an other days it doesn't? If the connection itself is bad or the connection drops and reconnects a lot, try updating or reinstalling the intel driver for that card. A windows update could have easily overwritten the driver and cause issues as a result.

You could also have broken or exposed antennas in the hinges of the display that may cause issues, in which case replacing the card would not help.

…… do you have any resources I can refer to diag the potential issues you brought up. why are Wi-Fi cards so limited to the specific computers? Also I had my computer looked at by geek squad ((I have total tech so I abuse it) since I was having issues with Wi-Fi at school). They said it’s working intermittently when they tested it and could not further diag since they had no other card and since most mini PCIe Wi-Fi chips are cheap I figured I’d upgrade if able. If my antenna is the issue can I even fix that? Also from what I’ve been reading usb based Wi-Fi cards are slower

Because some manufactures white list cards in the UEFI, because they are ass holes or something to that degree. If the card is not on the list, the computer might not even boot.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I dont think that matters. I think they white list specific models.

Yes they do, its very hit and miss, you never know for sure until you try. eg

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

You need to read the comment from the OP I quoted. He asked if he used a card from the same vendor as the current card or from a vendor on the white list.  I explained that the vendor doesnt matter as cards are most likely white listed based on model rather than brand.

I got lucky then maybe because the card was made post white list?

MSI are hit and miss I believe, some models use a whitelist, some don't.  We've been building a list:

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC
