Help with GPU not working properly

Hey everyone I’ve been stuck with this problem for nearly a year and I gave up trying to fix it myself.

 

My computer was working fine until one day I booted it up and I immediately noticed the resolution was like 800x600 instead of the normal 2560x1440 and my 2080 Ti was detected but just not working at all.

 

Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this?

It might be the drivers, have you tried reinstalling them?

I tried using GeForce Experience but nothing happened.

I've had this happen when my CMOS died and for some reason radeon drivers rolled back by like 3 years.  Just update the driver, and if that doesn;t work uninstall it and reinstall it.  Reseating the card may not be a bad idea either.  If none of that works, check on your PSU.

Awesome thanks! I tried reinstalling drivers and reseating the GPU but no luck :(.


I am praying SO much that it’s not a GPU issue because my EVGA warranty literally expired last month and it was a very expensive GPU :/.

Display Driver Uninstaller.  Some of us think this may be a driver related issue.  If it is, this should work.  You can also just try updating the driver by installing the latest GPU drivers from nvidia's website.  Another thing you can do before you abolutely lose hope is to reinstall windows (this could be a windows issue if nothing else).  Either move all of your files to portable media first or remove your c drive and install a different drive in place of it.  Reinstall windows and then install the GPU drivers from nvidia's website.

Ohh ok would a fresh install of windows do the same thing?

Because I did a fresh Windows install and still no luck 😔.

 

I can’t even get into the bios because the screen spazzes out.

You could always use the video output from the onboard graphics of the i7-8700K to make adjustments in the BIOS.

I would have thought a true fresh install off windows would have achieved a wipe. So if that is the case, it may be hardware issues. As said above, you could try you Integrated graphics to see if it can output the correct resolution. Can't completely rule out the monitor is somehow buggy too, so worth seeing with the integrated GPU.
