Need cheap PC for printing. Prebuilt or build myself?

ChristGuard
Go to solution Solved by GOATWD,

get the prebuilt at that price u will strugle to make anything at that price unless u go back a while it will be slower to build one i think

Budget (including currency): 400 USD

Country: U.S.

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Printing... pretty much just printing from emails and thumb drives

I need a printing PC for my church office, one that people use to print different things every week (people who don't work at the church but volunteer in Children's church and what not, so they don't have computers at the church). Basically I just want a cheap computer to set up next to the large Savin MFP (Multifunction Printer). My only real question is, would it be better to buy a cheap pre-built bundle like this one: Amazon.com: Dell Desktop Computer Package Compatible with Dell Optiplex 7010 Intel Quad Core i5 3.2GHz, 8GB Ram, 500GB HDD, 19-inch LCD, DVD, WiFi, Keyboard, Mouse, Windows 10 Pro (Renewed) : Electronics or would it be better to try to build a cheap one... it's probably hard to find a monitor for that price, but at the same time I don't want COMPLETE junk. It needs to be nice enough for people to not get frustrated using it. Thoughts? What would you do?

I doubt that you'll be able to find custom parts for the same price. 1 thing you could do is add a 64-128gb ssd as the boot drive

THIS IS MY SIGNATURE

If its main purpose is printing basically anything from the last 10 years will do it.

The amazon listing you have is a good candidate but would be better with a boot ssd upgrade.
