Unsure of what cooling to buy for a Ryzen 7 5700x

Look at the deepcool ak400 or ak620,If you want rgb deepcool as500 plus but check your cases cooler clearance its 170mm tall.All of them come with deepcools thermal paste which is good stuff.

I'm slowly upgrading my old pc to make it run decently for gaming and need to upgrade my a10-9700 as its the last major thing for me. Im pretty sure the fan i have now wont be able to keep the 5700x cool when i get it, so ive been looking at them but really dont know enough to make an informed choice. Im trying to cool it well but not spend too much, the two fans im thinking of are the cooler master hyper 212 evo v2 and the arctic freezer 34 esports. Any help on which i should choose would be great, but also any better recommendations for the same price as the freezer 34 would be appreciated.

 

also, any tips on what the best thermal paste would be would be greatly appreciated too! i really dont have much idea on whats the best thing to use

The Arctic Freezer is a pretty good cooler, I wouldn't bother with a hyper 212 evo. The hyper 212 evo has been using the same design for the past 10+ years and is just not a great cooler, especially now that its gone up in price.

On a 65W cpu, which thermal paste you use will have almost no effect on performance, (how you apply it is more important).

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Expand for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components and other tech. I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Please try to be clear and specific, you'll get a better answer. Please remember to mark solutions once you have the information you need.

 

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

65w is just what it says on the box.. it’s gonna be more than that even if he doesn’t touch anything. 65w is it’s bclk at a static speed and voltage, no boost.

 

PA120 is a good cooler for X3D.

The coolers should already come with decent paste. What cooler do you already have?

What case and ram are you using?

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?
