970 vs arc a380

ok, i have a gtx 970 4gb, but ive been wanting to upgrade since i play some demanding titles such as flight sim, but ive seen the price and performance of the a380 and apparently its only gonna get better with driver updates, so i just want to ask if its worth the upgrade

No. Not worth it at all. Try to get an Radeon 6600.

16gb 3000 mhz adata ram, ryzen 3100, gtx 970, 256gb nvme m.2, 1tb hdd, and asus prime a320m-k

Can you enable Re-Bar/SAM(Smart Access Memory) in BIOS? If not the a380 gonna perform worse in your system, much weaker than your 970. 

 

For context, 970 perform around Radeon Rx 570

As others have mentioned, at the current state, Arc GPUs are a still not recommended. Drivers are messy, older games run like crap,only selected games does okay, it's just not worth it.

Either get an RX 6600, or 6600XT/6650 XT.

I remembered in a LTT video said, the performance issue won't be fixed by drivers update because it was due to the architecture of the GPU.

thats funny cause every other "techtuber" says the opposite,  even that the architecture is excellent iirc. and it already *has* improved drivers and firmware a lot (btw driver updates also update the firmware,  no way to opt out)

 

But drivers isn't the issue here the 970 is still stronger than the airbus (unless we take flight distance into consideration ~)

 

It's simply not an upgrade,  its a downgrade.
