So I just checked my router. It is admittedly a different (and older) model, but I have a dedicated "Firmware Upgrade" tab. It's an Archer C1200 v2.0, for reference.

I would suggest rebooting your router, just in case. Then perhaps backup your current settings and do a Factory Reset. If it doesn't fix it, you can just flash your old settings back. If it does fix it, then go back through and manually reconfigure everything.

I already tried that as well, still the same.. I have no clue why this is happening, the only thing that i need to try yet, is unplugging it from the wall and seeing what will happen

Tried... the reboot? What about factory reset?

Is the Archer VR1210v a unit that you own or one that was supplied by your ISP?

Supplied by isp, the weird thing is that the firmware update option was there like a year ago, so I have no clue

Thought so.

This is probably a measure by the ISP to prevent modification of the device without their consent. I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly pushed a modified version of the stock firmware that removed the firmware upgrade option.

I would advise you against trying to upgrade ISP device firmware yourself unless you have the ISP's permission and guidance. They can modify the firmware to suit their network, so you flashing your own might break something in the process.

I just looked up the device. Its a gateway  (DSL modem / Router). Being supplied by the ISP means they have access it. They likely issued a firmware update to remove that option or simply turned it off. They have that ability after all.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
