I haven't used the motherboard yet... For a iGPU do I have to update the bios? In pcpartpicker when I put a intel i5 12400F it doesn't show any compatibility issues, but when I put in a intel i5 12400 It shows compatibility issues. Do I need to update the bios?

You should just because there's an updated bios, not because of compatibility.

If a new Bios doesn't fix something, it wouldn't exist.

Which motherboard do you have? There shouldn't be any compatibility issues as far as I know for any Z690 board and a 12400. You shouldn't need to do any BIOS updates.

It would be very weird if it requires bios update, unless it's a prebuilt with some kind of Lenovo motherboard, then it might be an issue. If it's a pc with a normal motherboard you shouldn't need a bios update. But if it's throwing errors you can just update the bios, these days it's as simple as downloading a program and clicking next.
