ddr5 vs ddr4

I want to build a new PC with 13th gen Intel Core i7 I can't choose between two : DDR4 or DDR5. What do you guys prefer?

I'd go DDR5, it's rather competitive now and will continue to get better and more affordable. A super cheap DDR5-4800 kit is usually equal to - and at worse only slightly behind - a 3200Mhz CL14 kit which is pretty snappy for DDR4:

My general rule for it is that you want to go for a kit of DDR5 if possible, aiming for 2x16GB 5600MT/s or faster, but if you're trying to get a system to fit in a budget it would be the first thing I'd sacrifice to get it in range. If it's the price difference between say a 3070 Ti and a 3080, get the faster GPU over DDR5, but if you're under budget and can't put that towards a better CPU or GPU, then yeah go for DDR5.
