I was wondering if there was anyone here who has had experience modding a Thor-V2 and could help me mod my first case. I want to install a window into the side (which seems pretty straight forward) but I also want to find a way to make the HDD lights not the intensity of the sun and maybe install some lights (LED or Cold Cathode). Anyone have suggestions?

The problem with that I still like how they look, they are just TOO bright.

Would there be a way to put some darkened translucent plastic on the inside or something?

Anything is possible with modding.

I think even some normal 'clear' tape or some type of coating that dries clear should dim the light enough.

I mean, it should be relatively easy for this case. The top pops off with direct access to the IO porn where the HDD lights are on the side, so it could easily work, but I think that the LEDs are right on the circuit board, and could be a little harder to do.

Maybe unplugging the header would be easier. Decisions, decisions...

try something that spreads the light more, then it looks less bright, otherwise get a black marker and make the led black, it won't look nice, but it does quite alot.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

You could solder a resistor on the hdd light wire. I'm no electrical engineer but I do know that this works to reduce the rpm of fans.

I couldn't tell you what size of resistor to use either, although there's bound to be someone who can.

I sometimes use the pen from my wacom tablet to type cuz i'm too lazy to set it down :P
