FiiO E09K & E17 good desktop combo?

Hey guys I'm looking for a desktop solution that is an AMP/DAC.

 

I was looking at these two because the E17 is a nice portable DAC and the desktop part of it is very appealing and I want the best of both worlds.

 

I have a Asus Xonar DS 7.1 and I have heard spending lots of money on a sound card wont get you far. I have AKG 551's and love them to death. Am I looking at some improvements here? Also FLAC music is much used.

Likely yes, those 551's are very low impedance, pairing that with a Xonar is.. eh

 

I would go ahead and get the E17.

So low impedance meaning? Also how would the change be good?

The output impedance of that sound card is likely too high for those headphones, which I believe have an input of 32ohm.

 

When that happens, sometime of your frequencies get dropped (IIRC reduced low end)

The change would be good because you would most likely be returning back to the full spectrum of response.

I'd imagine the E17 would already be enough for the 551's, no need for the E09k.

Instead to open a new topic i'm writing here a question about the fiio e09K. 

 

What if i'll use e09k with headphone and for amp a regular 2.1 by using rca lineout? will it works?
